1. TRY GUIDED IMAGERY

Unplug from the world for a second. Instead of staring at your phone or snapping cute pics, find ways to relax without it. Try guided imagery to take a break from reality. Think of it as a short mental vacation.

Where you go is up to you. You can sit on a glorious, sandy beach or bundle up in a snowed-in winter cabin. Either way, this exercise allows you to learn how to calm your mind wherever you are in reality.

2. SWEAT IT OUT

Try to stay in the moment. Focus on what you hear, see, taste, smell, and touch. If a distracting thought pops up, just push it aside.

4. FOCUSED BREATHING

You can also use breathing techniques to lower your stress levels.

Breathe in through your nose and fill your lungs with air. Imagine the movement of the air from your nose, down your throat, and to your lungs as you breathe.

Hold your breath for one second. Then, slowly breathe out through your nose, counting to three. With each breath, imagine the stress and tension escaping from your body.;

5. GET CREATIVE

Get in touch with your creative side! Grab a coloring book, art pad, or notebook and let your imagination take over.
